Maternity & Newborn

Maternity
Pregnancy is such an exciting time. I enjoy helping my expectant momma's to feel: comfortable, beautiful, and to have fun when doing these sessions. Maternity portraits need to be scheduled around the 30 week mark (give or take a week or two). Please feel free to bring your spouse or other children as they are welcome to participate, too! The session will last approximately 60 minutes. Please contact me and we can discuss a location and your vision.

Newborn
Tiny nose, fingers, and toes… they won’t stay like that for long. I strive to capture all the perfection of your little bundle of joy, to be appreciated for years to come.

In Hospital Session
In-hospital sessions capture all the details of baby that change so fast; from fine newborn hair to wrinkly toes. Two options are offered for in-hospital sessions: arrival or first moments. Arrival captures the birth of your baby and first moments are captured within 24-48 hours after birth. In-hospital sessions are quoted by request (Raleigh/Cary/Chapel-Hill hospitals included).

Newborn sessions
Newborn sessions can take place in one of two places: on-location outdoors in a natural area (weather permitting), or at Simply Bliss Studio. We can discuss which option suits your needs the best. Newborns are best photographed within the first 12-14 days of life, as they are the most cuddly, sleepy, and moldable. I recommend booking your session with a tentative date according to your due date. Booking during your second trimester is preferred. If your due date changes or actual birth date comes earlier/later, we can easily move your date to best suit your needs.

A supply of blankets, hats, bows, cheesecloths, and props are available for use during our session. I also recommend using some of your own blankets or items to add a personal touch to your photos. Simple set ups and props/blankets are used, as the focus is on your precious baby. If you have some special heirlooms that you would like to incorporate into your session, please feel free to bring them with you.

Newborns do not like to be rushed; so expect for the session to last up to 3 hours so we can work around their needs and schedule, as they will be sleeping during posing and shooting. Please also note that newborn sessions are solely for the newborn. Please do not bring any siblings as the session is long and it is important that the newborn does not get disturbed or startled. If you would like to incorporate their siblings, they can be brought during the last 45 minutes of the session.

Grow with me
The "Grow with Me" plan is perfect if you would like to document the first year of baby's life.
